Parts Writeback Information - FAQ
Overview: This feature saves dealerships time and prevents errors by allowing parts to automatically write back to the DMS if they were added to repair order lines within Dealerlogix.
Key Benefits
Parts Writeback starts by a user adding specific parts to a repair order, usually by using Dealerlogix’s Parts Lookup and Availability menu. Once the Parts department has completed their review of the repair order, and pulled the relevant parts, they can simply click the Next button, within Dealerlogix.

Dealerlogix will warn the Parts user about any potential discrepancies in the parts information added to the repair order, using the following sections: Unidentified Parts, Availability Mismatches, and Pricing Mismatches.
Unidentified Parts - In the example below, we see that the “18W Driver Front Wiper” part was not found in the DMS, based on the provided part number.
Availability Mismatches - This alert warns the user that they do not have enough stock on hand, per the DMS, to meet the needs of this repair order. (As shown on the Wiper Blade part below)
Pricing Mismatches – Any parts which have been added at a different price than what is stated in the DMS will be flagged under this section.
